This CSV file contains information about 382 major battles of the American Civil War, as documented by the National Park Service. Links are provided to the web page for each battle. Some inaccuracies in this data have been corrected, but have not yet been corrected on the National Park Service pages at this time.

Subject: suggested corrections to Battle Summaries data set
Thanks to the NPS for providing this data set. I tried to reconcile the data in the file "NPS-CWbattlesummaries4.csv" with information found on the CWSS website, Wikipedia, and freebase, and found some inaccuracies in the csv file. I suggest the following corrections for improving this data set.

(Row numbering begins with header row 1; column lettering begins with Battle name column A)

row 88, column K: Result(s) should be "Union victory" (not "LA003")
row 88, column L: CWSAC Ref should be "LA003" (not "AL001")

row 104, column A: battle name should be "Shepherdstown" - WV016 (not "Cane Hill," which is the correct name of the battle on row 118)

row 153 should be deleted as row 153 data duplicate data from preceding row 152 (there was only one "Day's Gap")

row 432, column A: battle name should be "Namozine Church" - VA124 (not "Sewell's Point," which is the correct name of the battle on row 2)

There are also two battles on the CWSS site that are not included in this data set:

1. Data for Battle of Donaldsonville (1862) - LA004 are missing

Note: This is different from the Second Battle of Donaldsonville (1863) - LA013, which is already included on row 204
